A REELIFE Short Bio
Extract from Ann's written REELIFE story
Going into a care home can be very stressful. There can be fear of losing privacy and no longer being seen as an individual. This is a simple way to help with that transition and continued care.
Often the extensive personal questionnaire on admission can be difficult to digest. This carefully created summary of a life, is more easily readable by busy care staff.
Helping carers care..
A REELIFE Short Bio is a short written biography that captures the highlights of a resident's life: who they are, what they've done and exploring their particular loves and interests. With this information at hand, caregivers can get to know the person well beyond their health needs. Helping them foster a deeper connection and boost quality of care.
Caring is a busy profession and carers often don’t have time to uncover people’s stories for themselves. Even when they manage to, information can disappear quickly when they move on.
Often a care home will get families to fill in a detailed questionnaire, but that can be dense and hard to read. The ReeLife Short Bio is designed to be an easily read overview kept with their medical notes. It helps any staff that care for the resident, to understand them better and therefore help with their care.
How does it work?
- We interview the resident and/or one agreed representative of the family.
- The family provides couple of favourite photos of the interviewee.
- From this, we create a carefully written biography of around 600-800 words.
- This is sent to the interviewee or one agreed family member for checking.
- Once approved, the information will be provided digitally.
